The two full moons will close a year that began with a supermoon in January.
Skywatchers can look forward to two supermoons before the year ends. The November full moon, known as the Beaver Moon, falls on November 24, and December's Cold Moon follows on December 24.
They will be the second and third supermoons of 2026, after the Wolf Moon on January 3.
A supermoon occurs when a full moon coincides with the Moon being at or near its closest point to Earth in its orbit. It can appear slightly bigger and brighter than an average full moon, especially when seen rising near the horizon.
No equipment is needed to enjoy the sight. The best views come shortly after moonrise, when the Moon sits low over buildings or trees.
