The 72nd edition of Pune's iconic classical music festival will run from January 13 to 17, 2027.
The 72nd Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Festival, one of India's best-known Hindustani classical music events, will be held from January 13 to 17, 2027, in Pune.
For the first time, the festival will take place at the Fergusson College grounds. The previous edition was held at the Maharashtra Mandal sports complex in Mukundnagar.
The festival, organised every year by the Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal, has mostly been held in December in recent years, making the January dates a notable shift. The announcement was made by the Mandal's executive president, vocalist Srinivas Joshi.
Founded by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi in memory of his guru Sawai Gandharva, the festival draws thousands of music lovers to all-night concerts by leading vocalists and instrumentalists.
