The pre-Lent festival will bring King Momo's parades to Panaji, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa and more.
Goa's famous Carnival will be held in February 2027, according to the state tourism department's tentative festival calendar. Parades are planned in Panaji, Porvorim, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa and Morjim.
The carnival is held in the days leading up to Lent, which begins with Ash Wednesday on February 10, 2027.
Presided over by the legendary King Momo, who decrees that people eat, drink and be merry, the festival features colourful floats, music, masked dancers and street parties.
The tradition dates back to Portuguese rule and has become one of Goa's biggest tourist draws. The state's spring Shigmo festival is scheduled to follow in March.
